This week the true New York heat hit. 3 days of 90+ degrees. Even starting the day at 6am it was about 80 degrees. We started to tye the tomatoes up. So many plants and lots of work. A lot of the plants have fruit on them. The sugar peas are ready! I hope to harvest them tomorrow.
The work never ends. Came home tonight to find the cows got out and into the garden. Not good. It could have been worse. I will have to rebuild some beds and really assess the damage tomorrow. The animals are always reminding us they are there.

The three sisters begin
With a little help from my friends we planted 35 rows of corn the week of June 1st. I plan on doing the three sister method at least in one section. Now we wait for the corn to grow. The weather provided the most ideal rain light and over a duration of time on Tuesday.
We also picked all the garlic scapes last week. Yum Yum I pickled 10 jars and can't wait to do some more this weekend.
We are in our thrid week of CSA and there is beautiful cabbage and beets.
One challenge has been the little critters. We have wood chucks and rabbits. They are in the green house and the garden. Eating all the tender baby starts. I hope to catch some this weekend and vote them off the farm.
